Matthew Evetts - Director
Matthew is experienced in both the private and public sector and across all Avantgate's work areas.
He has a degree in psychology and English which has proved extremely useful for interacting with a range of people and organisations, developing business processes, training material, websites, and branding.
In 2009 Matthew's main project is with The Department of Building and Housing in Wellington. With the Department Matthew is a Business Analyst on their EDRMS project (Electronic and Document Management System) that utilises the Objective EDRMS software. The role covered nearly all aspects of the project – from analysis to configuration. Matthew was also involved in modifications to the related infrastructure e.g. MS Active Directory, Windows Server security, storage area networks, virtual servers, and scanning software. The project was very successful – delivered on-time and under-budget.
Matthew's main focus during 2008 was a contract with the Tertary Education Commission (TEC) to design a SharePoint workspace for their services team and help them out with several other business issues. This was a successful project with high praise from the group manager.
His work experience is varied – the most recent being with TEC as a Senior Advisor and then a Senior Analyst; and running Avantgate. While running Avantgate Matthew has researched business, management, and internet services and how this knowledge can be applied to assist other organisations.
During 2007 he volunteered for The Joshua Foundation in Tanzania as their IT Manager. This included troubleshooting networks, servers, and personal computing; developing policies and proposals, and implementing new IT solutions.
